Per registrarti devi inserire:
il nome (nick) che sarà visibile quando scrivi un articolo o un commento,
la tua email dove riceverai la password (che potrai cambiare successivamente) per accedere al tuo pannello di amministrazione
accetta le note legali di utilizzo
fai click su “Registrati”
Inserisci nel pannello che segue il nome e la password che ti sono arrivate per email:
clicca sul pannello “Scrivi” o sul pulsante “Scrivi un nuovo articolo”
Inserire il titolo e il testo
inserisci un titolo (non troppo lungo…meno di una riga)
Questo è il pannello degli strumenti per la scrittura, se non capisci il significato di qualche icona, lasciaci il puntatore sopra per qualche istante e ti apparirà la descrizione testuale della funzione.
Iniziate con operazioni semplici!!!
- Inserisci per prima cosa un riassunto, o un breve testo introduttivo.
- Realizza una sintesi per tappe del tuo viaggio.
- Inserisci il testo del tuo racconto.
- Prendi come esempio le storie già pubblicate.
Ricordati di salvare frequentemente.
Controlla come apparirà nel sito il tuo articolo.
Se hai già preparato il testo e vuoi copiarlo
Il modo più sicuro per evitare risultati inaspettati è quello di salvare come “solo testo” o “testo senza formattazione” il documento che hai preparato, i programmi di scrittura spesso inseriscono formattazioni non compatibili con le pagine web, in particolare per Microsoft Word è presente il pulsante:
incolla da word – per “ripulirne” il codice generato automaticamente.
NO FEAR IT ha già uno stile
Come hai potuto notare, nel pannello degli strumenti non è possibile cambiare il “Font” (o carattere), la scelta del font è comune a tutto il sito… te ne risparmiamo i motivi tecnici.
Non cambiare il colore del testo, vorremmo avere un sito il più possibile “standard”.
Usa il pulsante “Formato” per cambiare la dimensione dei titoli.
Ecco gli esempi dei vari formati:

Come avrai notato Testata 1 produce un testo bianco molto grande mentre Testata 2 un testo rosso con una immagine di fondo. Non usare Testata 1, usa invece Testata 2 se vuoi evidenziare un capitolo o una sezione particolare del tuo racconto.
Inserire le immagini
Prepara le tue immagini.
La larghezza della pagina è limitata, non ha senso inserire immagini troppo grandi, ti consigliamo di salvarle con dimensioni massime di 600px per il lato lungo (altezza se la foto è verticale, larghezza se è orizzontale) alla risoluzione di 72 dpi (punti per pollice) che è la risoluzione del monitor (risoluzioni maggiori non offrono una qualità migliore ne aumentano solo il “peso”)
Esempio del pannello “Dimensione immagine” in Photoshop:
Sempre da Photoshop usa “Salva per Web e dispositivi” – JPEG alta – ottimizzato
Nel pannello di scrittura, posiziona il cursore nel punto dove vuoi aggiungere l’immagine.
Usa “Aggiungi Immagine” per caricare le tue foto

Si aprirà il pannello di selezione, puoi anche caricare tutte le immagini in una volta sola.
Una volta caricate le immagini puoi trovarle nel pannello “Galleria”.
Cliccando su “Visualizza” puoi inserire informazioni supplementari….
…e inserire l’immagine nell’articolo scegliendone la dimensione.
Se non sei sicuro di aver ridimensionato correttamente l’immagine, scegli dimensione “Media”, otterrai un’immagine di 600px max per il lato più lungo (adatta a riempire la pagina).
Dimensione “Miniatura” produce un’immagine di 250px max per il lato più lungo.
Allineamento specifica come si posizionerà il testo “intorno” all’immagine.
Ultima nota….Il banner con le miniature delle immagini lo inseriremo noi quando ci comunicherai che hai terminato l’inserimento, nello slideshow collegato, come didascalia apparirà il nome del file…puoi quindi nominare il file in modo che sia “pertinente” all’immagine (e non immagine1…2 ecc.), ma questo lo devi fare prima di caricare le immagini.
Come inserire la Mappa di GoogleMaps

Una volta completata la mappa clicca su “Visualizza in Google Earth”, dovrebbe partire il download di un file con suffisso .kml, se così non fosse clicca col tasto destro su “Visualizza in Google Earth” e scegli: “Scarica documento collegato”.
Carica il file ottenuto da Google tramite aggiungi media….
e inseriscilo nell’articolo.

your username (nickname) that will be displayed when you write a post or a comment,
your email address, where you will receive the email message containing the password (that could be changed immediately afterwards) to logon the administration panel
accept the legal notes

Insert in the underneath panel username and passowrd received via email:
click “Write” or “Write a new post”
Insert title and text
insert a title (not too long … should fit in a line)
This is the control panel containing the edit commands, if you do not understand the utility of some icons, please leave the cursor above them and it will be displayed a textual desciption of the function.
Start simple!!!
- First insert a summary, or a short introduction.
- Insert a summary of your travel organizaed by leg stages.
- Insert your story text.
- Look at the stories already posted for ispiration/example.
Remember to save often.
Check-out how it will appear your post.
If you have already prepared your text and you want to paste it
The safest way, in order to avoid unwanted outcomes, is to save your document as “text only” or “text without formatting”, wordprocessors often format documents with formatting instructions not accepted from webpages, specifically for Microsoft Word is available the command:
paste from Word – in order to “clean up” the automatically generated formatting code.
NO FEAR IT has already a style
As you can see, in the edit control panel, it is not available the command “Font”; font selection has been already done by us, it is the same all over the Nofear.it web and … we save yourself from tech explanations.
Do not change text colour, we prefer having a “standardised” website.
Use the command “Format” to change Heading dimensions.
Hereunder some formats examples:

As you can see, Heading 1 generate a large white text, meanwhile Heading 2 generate a red text with a background image. If you want to put in evidence a chapter or a pargraph please use Heading 2 instead of Heading 1.
Insert images
Prior to start inserting images, prepare in advance your images.
Page width is fixed, it is useless inserting big images. We suggest you to save them with a maximum dimensions set at 600px for the widest side (height, if the photo is upright, widht, if horizontal) with a resolution of 72 dpi (dots per inches), corresponding to the windscreen resolution (greater resolutions do not offer better quality and increase “weight”)

In Adobe Photoshop use “Save for Web and Devices” – JPEG high – optimized
Position the cursor where you want to insert the image alongside the text.
Use “Add an Image” to insert your photos
(not to be mixed up with: Insert/Edit image)
From the the selecting panel, you could load all the images once.
Once you have loaded images, you could find them in the “Gallery” area.
By clicking on “Show” you could insert extra infos …
… and position image amid the article by selecting dimensions.
If you are not sure of having correctly sized the image, select Size “Medium”, you will obtain an image 600px max for the longest side (that fit perfectly in the page).
Size “Thumbnail” generate an image 250px max for the longest side.
Alignment specify the way text will be arranged “around” the image.
Last but not least, banner/slideshow with tumbhnail rolling images will be inserted by us when you will inform us of having completed your story. In the linked slideshow, sub-title will be inherited from file name, so is highly reccomended to label the file with a significant name (please do not use generic name like “image1.jpg”); this naming activity must be held before loading the images.
How to insert GoogleMaps maps

Once you have completed the creation of your map, click on “View in Google Earth”, it should begin a file download with extension .kml, in case download does not start immediately, right-click on it and select “Download Linked File”.
Load the file obtained from Google by using the command Add Media …
… and insert it in the post.
