What an amazing adventure!!! I am proudly Canadian-Venezuelan (more Venezuelan in my heart!) and the story and narrative of your journey touched me very deeply. I almost cried at the end, as in the final moments of an intense movie...FELICITACIONES...BRAVO!!!

Hey Man

I am amased by your trip and your story. Very well done. My Name is Reza and living in London . I am currently planing my trip, "cycling round the globe" and need some advice regarding your last leg of the journey from Manaus to Ciudad Guayana in Venezuela, specially Amazon Part.

Would you please help me with the following question:

1. Is Amazon inhibited? Can I find Hotel and accomodation there, or its a tent all the way?
2. How safe is cycling there? How about locals and their attitude towards tourists?
3. How easy is to find supplies?
4. How about venezuela? Did you feel safe to travel?

Sorry if my question sounds a bit naive but in this western world news and infomrations are too paranoid.

Many thank dude

As I rolled through these towns looking for accomodations, a process that had become as routine as brushing my teeth, I wanted more than anything to be inconspicuous, just another face in the crowd. The fact that such anonymity was impossible, given my light Canadian complexion and fully loaded touring bike, sparked dramatic mood swings that at times bordered on rage. I knew that my anger was senseless, but that only frustrated me more. I was a regular Jekyll and Hyde on two wheels................

[...] Amundsen created an interesting post today on nofear.it » Blog Archive » Pedalling to Nirvana - part 7.2 (Alaska)Here’s a short outlineHe was very enthusiastic about my bike ride and strongly encouraged me to go to Vancouver Island, just like most people have. OK that’s it, I will finish my riding on Vancouver Island and take in all the immense beauty of the small ….. Just quick random images keep flashing as I sit here feeling very weird and wiry. In a way I feel as if I’m at the end of my life and all the events are being flashed in front of me. It is hard to focus as I feel like I’m on some sort of … [...]
